MAJOR SPOILERS!

Back in the good old days.

We begin with quite a lot of footage of the old New York City skyline which just makes you feel melancholy for pre-9/11. Back then it was probably done to set the tone and prepare you for feeling like you're in New York City along with Catherine but now it just makes me feel sad. :(

You should never do this!

After a while of buildings at night we are inside Cathy's apartment and the doorbell rings. Well, they caught her in the shower so she walks to her door in her towels. One on her head and one on her body. Look at all those locks on her door! You really sure you want to answer the door like that, Cathy? Vincent may not be able to rescue you in time if that's another villain just waiting to attack.

Isn't it so funny?! I'm in my towel! :D

At least she only cracks it open and this time it's just little kids demanding candy. I'm guessing it's Halloween or maybe it's just another day in the city. I don't know. lol! So according to Cathy it's just fine to expose her toweled self to little children. Okay. LOL!

Wait till my buddies hear about this!

Look at that little kid on the left in the crown. His grin says it all. He'll forever be able to say I saw Linda Hamilton in her towel. lol! Guess Cathy can say it was her costume this year.

"Thank you!" How sweet! :) <3

The cutest little girl comes back to say thank you. How sweet.

You Yanks and your towels!

A Rebel General walks up and inside her apartment asking pretty much the same thing.  Is that her costume? Turns out it's her father and she's going to a costume ball. She claims she'll be ready in 15 mins. Okay, we'll just see about that.

FATAL DEATH by Rebel sword!

Cathy's father adds a little comic relief there at the end. Don't sit on your sword, dad.

Ghosts stories in spooky caves!

Down in the Below Father is telling ghosts stories to a few costumed tunnel dweller children.

Vincent VS Headless Horseman!

Later, after the children leave Father and Vincent wax nostalgic about Vincent's thirst for ghosts stories when he was a child especially The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Vincent picks up a red book that has 300 in big white letters.

This is 300 and THIS IS HALLOWEEN!

Father is wary about him going up above soon and Vincent quotes from the book who's author is named Briget O'Donnell. The quote mentions about taking chances which Vincent is meaning to take a chance up Above.

Make up by Rick Baker!

Vincent thinks he should be able to go anywhere Above on Halloween because he could be just some actor named Ron Perlman that  makeup artist Rick Baker got a hold of in a city where movies are made and where no one would bat an eye at. Wait a minute, couldn't that be just about every day in New York? No matter I digress.

I'm gonna have a date with a total stranger!

Well, even though Father disapproves it appears Vincent wants to meet not Catherine on the one night they could have a whole day and night on the town. Oh, no. That would be too easy and no show. He wants to meet a one time only mentioned for this episode famous author that he adores all of a sudden. :

Have fun Father, snoring in the castle!

Father is all huffy puffy and Vincent is like I'm out of here. Have fun in the gloomy library with your dusty books while I have a night of wonder and excitement.

300 days of Terrible Strength!

The last scene is a close up of the books on the table. 300 Days by Briget O'Donnell and another book called A Terrible Strength. Okay.

There's such a sad love...STOP THAT!

Back Above Cathy walks into the living room looking like she stepped out of the David Bowie movie Labyrinth! Oh man! Too bad I talked about that movie and it's songs in the other episode. Couldn't possibly do it here now could I? NOT!

Don't you just love David Bowie, Daddy?

She looks so much like Sarah when she's dancing with David during the song As the World Falls Down. I wonder if that movie was her inspiration? It is the time period for when that movie came out. Hmmm. So all that time we were below with Father and Vincent she was getting ready. Well, Cathy don't lie to your Father like that. She is beautiful though.

Fathers and Daughters & Fathers and Sons
The two talk about not being able to see each other because of work. Looks like Vincent and Catherine are going to the same event, to meet Briget O'Donnell. Well, how about that. Think they both talked about it earlier? Of course. Well, we'll see. Maybe. Cathy grabs her owl mask from off a dresser. Owl mask? Okay, that's it. Cathy has a crush on David Bowie! Who could blame her? Who didn't back then? :)

Cathy's father says she reminds him of her mother and they talk about her and romance.

I'm Danny DaVito and it's closing time!

Somewhere else in the city a dude wants to buy a costume from another dude's costume shop. It's afterhours on Halloween so costume shop owner wants to close but I guess money talks.

What happens when you fail History!

The poor dude gives late Irish accent dude what looks like a British soldier's uniform as a costume. Of course Irish sounding dude gets huffy.

Seriously? Is that really any better?

So store owner gives him a clown costume. Uh oh looks like this Irish dude has a gun. Okay.

So things really haven't changed all that much.

Just to make sure we know what kind of ball we're all attending, the store owner opens a newspaper that shows an article which reads "Masked Ball to Fete Irish Peace Activist Brigit O'Donnell". I have a feeling it's not going to be so peaceful tonight.

It's a Dead Man's Party!

The masked ball begins and we have masked musicians playing Jazz! We're gonna rock tonight! We see a few of the funny costumes and in walks Catherine and her father from an elevator looking the best ever!

For sale on ebay?

That owl mask is awesome! They should've made more and sold them on ebay. Well, when ebay came into existence. Hmmm. I wonder if they did? lol!

Upstaging everyone!

Cathy walks around meeting friends. She says hello to her father's buddy Mr. Brenan and her friends Marie and Jeff ask if she's seen Brigit O'Donnell yet.

I'm the Red Herring Cowboy!

They gush about her and a strange guy in a cowboy costume walks up behind Cathy talking about O'Donnell selling her book to Tinseltown.

She's just a rip off you know!

Marie mentions how Briget ripped off Shakespeare. Yeah, everybody does that, right? They are sooo trying to push this book as a parallel for our two love birds
aren't they? Okay, okay. We know. We have to love this book we've never read because it's like this show.

Where's my pretty date...that's not Cathy?

During all this time Vincent is lurking around outside. Guess he's trying to find a way in to see Cathy! No, of course not. It's Briget.

The Bodyguard but not the movie

Later, Cathy and her father try to talk to O'Donnell when her bodyguard, a man named Cavenaugh checks out Cathy's father's fake sword. No worries there. He warns of "orange men" and "croppies." Basically Irish rebels.

You're such a copycat!

Briget O'Donnell finally appears and explains what "croppies" are. Rebels with cropped hair. Well, well, well. Looks sorta like Catherine and Briget BOTH have a David Bowie crush because Briget seems to be dressed as a darker colored owl as well.

Two owls don't make a cat!

Cathy and Briget are left alone to talk about a children's book that Briget wrote that Cathy claims to have enjoyed. Given to her by Vincent which she subtly eludes to. Briget continues to talk about how the rebels are ruining everything in Ireland.

So far this Halloween's going GREAT!

Vincent is still lurking in the shadows just outside.

NOW the party can begin! I've arrived!

Inside, Cathy is still talking to Briget when she sees Vincent just casually walk in through some double doors. It shocks Cathy. So apparently Vincent and Cathy DIDN'T plan to come to this. Oh, so it's one of those "we're so connected now that we mindlessly attend the same events because we're meant to be" things right? Oooookay.

I can be your David Bowie! Bla Bla Bla!

Cathy leaves Briget and begins searching through the crowd for Vincent but only finds a similarly cloaked Dracula for her efforts.

Where in the world can he be?!

For some reason, Cathy goes outside to look for Vincent even though she saw him go inside. lol!

I'm a skeleton playing the sax! Yeah baby!

Meanwhile, Vincent is walking around the party like it ain't nothing. Go Vincent.

Can't make Rick Baker angry!

He's all marveling at skeletons, jack-o-lanterns and caviar from Russia.

Briget the boyfriend stealer! GRRR!
He finally see the object of his desire. Nope, not Cathy unfortunately but Briget O'Donnell. You know I'm starting to want to read 300 Days just to understand why these two are so interested in this lady. It better not have a guy screaming "THIS IS SPARTA!" in it.

When what to my wondering lacy boobs did appear?

Briget finally notices Vincent staring her down and tells her overprotective bodyguard she was dancing with to shove off. She wants to talk to this Lion man!

I may have to dump Cathy now.
She's already fascinated with Vincent's look and Vincent only wants to be another adoring fan and tell how much he's been enjoying her books. She mentions they should go outside just as Cathy returns from outside. Cathy watches the two as they go outside. Inside, outside, inside! Come on peeps let's get on with this! lol!

Seriously? I don't have time for flirting pirates!

A stranger interrupts Cathy's pursuit of Vincent and acts all charming asking about who Cathy could possibly be under her mask.

Come on, babe! Everyone loves Patch!

He asks if she's a writer and she tells him no and that Briget though is also wearing an owl mask. Hmmm. She couldn't possible be getting confused for Briget now? Well, that's what you get for wearing the same costume as the guest of honor.

The rum will never be gone with me!

Cathy gets whisked away onto the dance floor with this charming gentleman. Humph.

Lacy Boobs' thrilling story.

All this time Vincent and Catherine could be together and they're both with strangers. Interesting strangers but come on! The ONE night they could really go out on the town together and they're both so fascinated with other peeps! Grrrr.

My accent comes from ancient times!

Outside, Vincent and Briget are talking about ancient Halloween. The talk quickly goes back to Briget's homeland and the war with the rebels there.

I look like I'm from ancient times!

Apparently 300 Days is based on a love of Briget's that died in a car explosion because of these rebels. So Briget was involved in a Romeo and Juliet type love affair with to rivaling gangs.

Can't you just let me in? Um, no.

Meanwhile the dude in the clown costume finally arrives. He's asked for his invitation and pretends to have lost it and gets huffy with the man who asked. The clown pretends he remembers where he left it and claims he'll return. Instead he hides in a crowd of people to get past and into the party.

Hi stranger dancing with my girl!

After a dance Cathy introduces the man she's been dancing with, Donald Pratt to her father who recognizes the name as a lawyer he knows. Donald claims that is who he is but seems to be a little agitated by it. Her father jokingly warns Cathy about him.

Shining Hair and Lacy Boobs

Back outside on the roof, Briget and Vincent continue their talk. Briget's father being a "croppy" he cast her out when she married her love Eric which was an "orange man". Despite it all she still loves her father.

I agree! We are sooo alike!

She then asks for Vincent's cloak so she can escape her hovering body guard and the like and have a night on the town. Grrrr! Vincent you should be doing that with Catherine! Anyway, all it takes to convince Vincent to do so is the quote earlier about "leaving safe places and walk empty handed among our enemies." This quote can be so dangerous for Vincent and Catherine if you look at it a certain way. Especially later on into the series. Grrrr.

Don't get any lace on it.

After attaining Vincent's cloak, Briget glides right past the clown, Donald Pratt and Cathy.

Did I just smell catnip?!

Cathy notices the cloak and thinks it's Vincent of course. Can't you tell Cathy that the figure is much smaller than Vincent? Grrr.

Come back, my knight!

The clown spots Donald and Cathy following Briget and follows as well. Cathy just misses the elevator that Briget enters and shushes them as the elevator doors close.

Ashes to Ashes dude! Hold the elevator!

Cathy of course thinks something is afoot! Sherlock Cathy is on the case! She asks the clown to hold the elevator he's just entered while she says her goodbyes to Donald.

Nope!

Of course rude old clown continues down without Cathy so the two (Donald and Cathy) take the stairs.

The ballad of Lacy Boobs and Shining Hair continues!

While all of this is going on, Vincent leaves as well. He meets up with Briget at the entrance of the building. So Vincent goes out on a date with the wrong woman on the absolutely right night. Grrrrr!

Benny Hill music begins!

The doorman watches all as the clown gives pursuit.

Where'd that woman go with my man?!

When Cathy and Donald arrive the doorman gives his two cents about how beautiful the lady was when Cathy asks if he's seen the woman. He also tells her that she left with a "man in a cat mask." Poor Cathy looks worried and jealous! Me too girl! She's stealing your one glorious night from you! Cathy tries to make Donald leave but he's stubborn and continues on with her.

THRILLER! Thriller night!

Vincent and Briget are taking a moonlit stroll in a park when Briget asks Vincent who his "lady" is?

Bright Boobs and Void in Pads!

He talks about how similar Briget's book is to his own experience. The lighting is so dark here at this moment that all you can really see are the white parts of their clothing. Vincent's unbelievably HUGE shoulder pads are very prominent here! lol! I'm sure they were used to make Vincent look quite broad and imposing. I don't know if they are suppose to be physically part of him or just part of his clothing. We are talking about the 80s here. Now days they look quite awkward. Vincent should be playing for some football team not walking with this Irish gal who isn't Catherine!

Looks like a horror story! Run lady before RockerVoid gets you!

They continue to agree their lives are the same. Wow! The lighting is just so terrible here! At times, Briget looks like she's talking to a hulking black void for a face and rocker hair.

Lose that other owl! I'm the owl for you!

Briget in a way warns Vincent that if he continues to go on with Cathy one or both of them may die. Just like her love did. Wow! For a fan of the show this is very prophetic! *shivers*

Two owls don't make a right.

Of course Vincent doesn't want to listen to this and won't of course. He believes in love way too much just like Briget.

I'm the clown, trust me.

Vincent feels that someone is following them and yes they are. The clown is just a ways behind them now. He has pulled out a gun but Vincent begins attacking him!

He's done clowning around.

Later, Donald and Cathy find the clown passed out. Cathy sees Fancy Void Hair and Briget a little ways off.

Hey Cathy!! Okay, bye.

Vincent leaves but Briget walks up to Donald and Cathy.

I

I know your secret...and I like it!

Donald ask about Vincent and Briget tells them he had to leave but insinuates she knows all about Cathy being Vincent's love he mentioned.

Look! I have a shiny badge! Isn't it pretty?

Briget recognizes the clown as Michael McFay and he's with the IRA. The reveals continue as Donald is apparently with Interpol. He claims there was word that Briget might be attacked.

I'll just tell you who I am and you'll believe me!

Even though Donald wants to send Cathy back to the party she reveals her job as a DA and wants to stay. Donald leaves for a moment.

Boring. I wish Cathy was in danger.

Vincent returns to The Tunnels and has a talk with Father about "pain, grief, and hate." It starts Father into waxing nostalgic again about creating The Tunnels as a place to get away from such things.

Oh look. A clown car.

Back Above and we're in a fake looking car ride with The Four. Michael McFay wakes up and claims Briget's father sent him.

Daddy is dying?

When she rebuffs him he mentions her father doesn't have long to live. Well, isn't this interesting. The bad guy is really not a bad guy. Well, not in the way we were led to believe. I wonder if there will be more twists as it goes along. Hee hee.

I have nothing to do with this whatsoever.

 Michael claims h
e was sent to kill Vincent who he thinks it the opposing rebel "orange man''. All this time the camera is focusing on Donald, who is driving and acting all suspicious or something? I wonder. lol

This isn't the way to San Jose?!

Like right on cue Cathy notices they're going the wrong way (I assume they were driving to the police station)  and Donald turns the car sharply.

I'm a chameleon baby!

He drives into a car garage and now sports an Irish accent and places a gun on them.

Bond Alarm Clock: Ding! Ding!

Of course as soon as this happens the Knight in Shinning Hair is activated to save the day! Poor Father watches as once again Vincent is off. I wonder how many more times Father will have to see this happen? :)

We confess! We drank your rum!

Donald and gang are out of the car and now he's explaining why he has a gun on them. They always have to explain, right?

Jamie is my name and oranges are my game!

He's there for revenge of the murder of a man named William. Cathy continues to try to talk him out of it.

This ain't no Barnum and Bailey!

It turns out Donald has another name, Jamie and he's been going after the three men that murdered his brother.

Noooo! This really sucks!

Michael being the second one he's planned to kill. After making Michael empty his pockets Jamie shoots him in front the women.

There's my rum.

He picks up a room key from Michael's belonging and wants to take the ladies to the third man he wants to murder, Briget's father.

Room Service?

They all end up at Briget's sick father's hotel room. Cathy pleads again for Jamie to not kill a sick man.

I want to shoot Lacy Boobs!

Jamie wants to kill Briget in front of her father, Sean and Sean pleads with Jamie not to do such a thing.

What?! Not Lacy Boobs!

Cathy throws some liquor on Jamie and fights him for the gun! Go Cathy!

Cathy to the rescue!

The gun falls on the bed and Sean grabs it. He wants to kill Jamie but Briget stands in the way.

You give love a bad name!

She tells her father the killing must end.

Shoot me lacy boobs why don't ya!

She yells at her father to shoot her if he's so determined to keep killing.

Darling, lets blow this joint!

He cannot and Jamie grabs Briget. Vincent grabs Jamie however in the hallway and throws him around a bit and then he's gone back into the night.

I hate New York!

This episode is about to end now and noo night out on the town for Vincent and Cathy yet! Grrrr! Jamie is arrested.

Yo! What's up?

Cathy sees Vincent on the roof watching everything. Cathy tells Briget her father will be arrested but that's no big news to her.

Take care of Shining Hair for me!

They talk about spending time with loved ones no matter how long or short it may be. Now Cathy has the idea to spend some time with Vincent. Fortunately us fans know Cathy has more than just one night with Vincent. More like 2 years or so and then...well I won't get into that just yet. :( The ladies hug and Briget is out of this episode never to be seen from again.

Why did you waste our one night with Lacy Boobs?

NOW will we have a Vincent and Catherine Halloween date night?! Vincent finally appears and Cathy says they can't waste this one night they have together!

We only TALKED about love! Honest!

Although they already have wasted the whole hour of the show so we can't see it! GRRRR!

Ghosts haunting New York. BEST TIME EVER!

What we do get is some pictures and Vincent pointing and Catherine smiling. They sure do look like they might have had a good time. Too bad we can't tag along more.

Lacy Boobs already took me here.

The last scenes are them walking in the  park again at sunrise. Hope they enjoyed their non-verbal sounding night together. I really wanted to see more of their adventure.

I choose Beauty over...well you know.

Their night ends on a park bench overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge as the sun rises. Cathy says she wanted him to see "the beauty" of the world instead of the beast of the world that he seems to always see, right? Vincent has to get all romantic as he says he knows all about beauty because he met Beauty i.e. Catherine. Oh, you smooth talking kitty.

Whoa! Rick Baker deserves an award!

Then of course the mood is broken with some New York jogger running by and being frightened for a second at Vincent. Come on you two! Cathy, you should have said Rick Baker and everything would have been alright. lol!

He's still my man!

Vincent stands and pulls his hood up and leaves.

Boring! Now what am I going to do?!

Their night together was just tagged on at the end. Ugh. Another episode down.

MAJOR SPOILERS

Michael Pniewski as Frank De Corsia

Directed by Paul Lynch

A Loch Ness Monster episode? No :(

No recycled footage of the city's skyscrapers this time! Oh No! We go right into the story. We're by the docks somewhere in a New York City harbor.

It's Murder O'clock! Do it!

Big old cranes moving big old metal boxes. Boats, trucks, and stuff. America at work. A fancy corvette drives onto the scene and out slithers some greasy haired dude with sunglasses. He screams for the foreman or shoreman...whatever.

Will do! Grown up Tonka Massacre a go!

They talk about a man named Flynn (Flynn is always in). Well, apparently he's not in so much this time. They complain about how he's "seen too much." Whatever that means. It doesn't sound good.

This is NOT one of my favorite episodes. Not by a long shot but I will try to do it justice. Who knows? Maybe it is someone else's favorite.

Lackeys Unite!

Moving on...Well, corvette dude drives off thinking he's all that. The man he talked to cues the crane driver to do something. Crane man begins to move a steel cargo box while Flynn dude is told to move to the center area.

I plead the fifth!

Suddenly a second man who is with Flynn pushes Flynn right underneath the cargo box!

Did I kiss my wife today?

Crane dude drops the box right on top of Flynn!

I did not sign up for this! Ugh!

He is now a human sized pancake and another worker who saw it all is not too happy about that! What a gory way to open an episode!

We vacuum your sewing!

Meanwhile, at Kato's Sewing Vacuum (what is that?) our knight in shining hair Vincent is stalking I mean creepily watching a sick man in bed.

The Avenging Angel has arrived!

Sick man wakes up and smiles at Vincent. That's good. He didn't scream his head off that a cat-man was sitting there ready to pounce on him. So he must be a friend. Vincent says,"Hello Sam." Father (who is a doctor by the way) brought medicine for Sam and used Vincent as a gopher.

I have Flashing Neon Sign sickness!

Sam asks Vincent how did Father get his hands on medicine. You know with Father living Below and all. The Below have Helpers who know about Below but keep it secret and also give the tunnel dwellers things that they might need sometimes.

Hakuna Matata! Father has a cure!

Sam used to be one of these helpers and now is in need of help himself. Sam thanks Vincent and he begins to go but Sam warns him he shouldn't come around because some dude named Mitch is in town.

What?! My nemesis has returned?!

This stops Vincent in his tracks! Looks like our Vin man knows this Mitch. What did this guy do to our Knight in Shinning Hair?!

He's bad to the bone!

Sam warns Vincent that "Mitch is poison" and he worries about him harming the people Below.

Super Vincent will take care of it.

Vincent promises they'll continue to help Sam and not to worry about Mitch. For some reason I think we should should worry about Mitch. During all this a flashing neon sign goes on and off just out the window. Ugh! Annoying!

She works hard for the money!

A little while later Catherine is walking into work where a big conference is going on and it is not Cathy's business how much of a relationship Edie has with Fred Astaire...movies that is.

Edie's love affair with Astaire.

Cathy has case work because of these "union officials from the docks."

If I don't get this case I'm going to explode!

This Docks case could be big news for the D. A. so Cathy wants it sooo bad. Joe makes our wild eyed Beauty's day and says she's on the case.

Hi, I'm Frank! You're Beans!

Off they go to the boss's office. Cathy meets a union worker named Frank. Talk goes quickly to the accident on the docks and keeping this guy Mitch Denton away from them (the docks that is).  He recently was released from prison. He used to work there but got arrested for extorsion. Seems that the pancake guy was going to testify to keep Mitch in prison. Oh, now it all makes sense. The plot thickens! Off to meet Flinn's no good working buddies!

I love book learning and water!

We learn a little about Frank. He went to school and loves the docks. Sounds like a pretty nice guy.

See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil

At the docks we meet some familiar guys who don't sound too thrilled that Cathy is there. Two of the guys claim they basically "didn't see anything."

I wanna tell ya but I can't!

The third man Sweeney is the one we saw who witnessed it but he ain't talking either.

You WILL be my snitch! You WILL!

Spooky music starts playing as the three guys leave.

If you spot a hazard let others know!

Notice the sign on the wall in the snack room. No one ever reads the signs!

I'll tell the boogeyman about you!

As Frank and Cathy return outside Frank sees another familiar guy bullying two other workers.

Here's a foot sandwich!

He fights the guy and warns him to "keep his hands off his men and to tell his boss."

My finger will fix you!

No doubt Mitch is his boss and he will be hearing about it.

Is Mean Face walking on broken glass?

Does that mean Frank is on dangerous ground?

Lady, you way too into this...let's kiss.

A calmer and romantic moment on Catherine's balcony has Vincent talking about how excited this case is making Cathy. It's the total opposite for me... Ugh *sigh*

What if I'm a failure?

Anyway, Cathy is worried about failure but Vincent encourages her by saying she has the "strength and courage to do this."

You can do it! You can too, Crystal!
Thank you Vincent! I must have the "strength and courage " to complete this review. If you readers see this review then YAY! I succeeded! If not then I guess Mitch got to me as well.

You'll always be my Knight in Shining Hair.

Vincent wishes he could "always" be her Knight in Shining Hair. Cathy simply replies...."you are."

An old man lives here. Easy pickings!

Meanwhile back at sick, old Sam's place, two goons break through the door while the poor guy is just trying to eat his soup!

Why is everybody always picking on me?

What is it with this show?! Why they always picking on old people?!

Old people =Money Show me the money!

They pull a knife on him and ask, " Where is the money?"

Okay boys, we got to make this look good!

Suddenly another dude comes out of nowhere (well, the doorway) and starts beating the crud out of the two goons!

And don't you come back no more!

Turns out this is Sam's son and he conveniently came at the right time to save his father from those guys. Hmmm.

I suddenly care about you Dad!
Their relationship seems to be strained. He doesn't come around often. I have a feeling I know who this guy is. Could this be Mitch Denton? Of course it is.

Everything is Vincent's fault!

Mitch says he wants to help his dad but Sam says he already has help and that leads us to Vincent. That neon light outside is getting on my nerves during this scene. Mitch is angry at Vincent because he wouldn't let him use the Below as a hideout and in his mind that got him arrested.  It couldn't be that you might have deserved it and Vincent didn't want to be an accomplice to your crime (and he probably was thinking about the tunnel dwellers' safety too).

More than just another hole in the wall

Later Mitch decides to pay a visit to the Below. What I don't get is if he wants so much revenge on Vincent then why hasn't he revealed the secret of the Below?

Ain't no place like home

That would have been the best revenge and he wouldn't have to lift a finger. Oh well, then there would be no show I guess.

Peek a poo I see you!

A child tunnel dweller spots Mitch walking around in the tunnels. The message gets to Father and Vincent. Vincent rushes to meet him.

How could you miss the No Mitch signs?

Vincent answers my earlier question when he tells Mitch they "changed the entrances to keep out intruders." So even if Mitch told they probably wouldn't find them. So Mitch used to be a tunnel dweller. Well, he turned out poorly. Shows that not everyone from down there turns out as great as Vincent is but that's quite a bright torch to grab for in the first place.

Remember the good old days!

Vincent remembers their childhood and Mitch uses that to wax nostalgic about a time when he helped Vincent escape from "hobos" as kids.

I SAVED YOUR FURRY BEHIND!

He tries to guilt trip Vincent for not helping him escape the police. This guy is a real piece of work. After growing up with Vincent Mitch eventually left the tunnels and got into crime. He talks about killing his way up to the top and even quips "law of the jungle and you should know about that" to Vincent which seems to hurt him.

There's a stranger in my house!

Vincent knows he's lost his friend forever.

They begin to block up the entrance to the tunnels where Mitch's father lives. Father is disappointed about how Mitch turned out. Aren't we all? Mitch's heart is filled with hatred and that's all.

Warning # 1

Back at the D.A.'s office Cathy and Edie are trying to find a way to bring in Mitch so the other dock workers will start saying something. Edie warns Cathy about Mitch.

Where everybody knows your name

Later Frank and Cathy are talking in a local bar when Jack Sweeney shows up.

We'll get him to talk this time

In case you haven't been keeping up he's the one that witnessed the pancake killing (Flynn).  Frank was meeting with him but he isn't too happy to see Cathy.

My family's life is more important than you!

Jack is afraid for his family if he says anything but Cathy promises they'll place them in a witness protection program. That didn't work out so well for Carol from the pilot episode did it Cathy? Whatever it takes to give you your snitch though right?

Never mind Carol. That was a fluke.

Still no luck with Sweeney yet so our two heroes exit the bar and say their goodbyes.

See you on the flip side!

Looks like she didn't bum a ride from Frank this time like she did when Frank drove them to the docks earlier. She all of a sudden has her own car! When did that happen Cathy?!

I'm Miss Independent all of a sudden!

Maybe it's a company car but it doesn't really matter because...BOOM!

BOOM!! RIP Frank

Frank's car explodes with Frank inside!

It's raining shrapnel!

Apparently it's far away enough that she doesn't even get hit by the shrapnel. Hmmm.

Glad I had a car at this moment!

Lady, you better be happy you had a car this time but it might be best you get your car checked and walk home. Sad for poor Frank. He was a nice guy. Looks like Mitch got to him. Cathy better be careful. She might be next.

Already miss being Beans to his Frank

Sad Cathy meets with Vincent on the balcony where Vincent warns her to stop but stubborn, wild eyed Cathy puts her foot down.

Stop in the name of love!

That's Edie and now Vincent. Two times she's been warned. Will third time be the charm?

I'm crazy obsessed now!

Vincent is worried for her safety and says, "A life without you would be unbearable." *Sniff* *tear*

At home drinking tiny tea.

Later Catherine visits Jack Sweeney and his family at his home. Cathy continues to persuade Jack to talk.

I said I always get my snitch!

She mentions the witness protection program again to get him to testify.

Yeah! Do it Daddy!

Do it honey! We don't care if we die.

What finally makes him agree to this is his wife and kids telling him it's the right thing to do. Oookay.

Alright! I'll do it!

Cathy's got her snitch. It doesn't look good for Cathy though because someone is watching her as she leaves Jack's house.

Even the portrait is bored.

The next day Sweeney talks in the D.A. office and Joe and Cathy place him and his family under witness protection.

A house in the country but don't sing any Carols.
We can only pray that it goes better than Carol.

Planning murder over seafood

Mitch and his dock goons are talking about Cathy and Jack and agree over shrimp and lobster to make a "house call" to Jack's later that night. Show's moving fast now. Not much time left.

We're just going on vacation!

Later over at Jack's house Cathy is helping the family pack when Jack's daughter wants to take all her stuffed animals with her. I don't blame her. I have a stuffed blue bear that has been with me since birth. He'd have to go with me too. Cathy better not be the only guard they have right now.

We look so intimidating!

The goons are coming but Cathy says they're ready to go. Ya'll should have left earlier!

In the nick of time!

The police arrive just in time to stop Mitch and his goons. The goons quietly drive off in their car away from Jack's house. Wow! How lucky they were.

Excuse me do you have a light?

Catherine isn't so lucky. After she says goodbye to Jack and his family, Cathy returns home only to find Mitch and gang right outside her door!

My hallway needs better security

They kidnap Cathy and take her to some shady, seedy alley.

Never play with a cat's bells

Mitch starts bullying her demanding to know where Jack is. This is enough to ding Vincent's bell.

Ringing Vincent's bell

Cathy is smart enough to make her escape from Mitch's car and take his gun while doing so.

You go girl!

Instead of running away, Cathy hides behind a dumpster and has a shootout with the goons. All this is happening while Vincent is making his way out of the tunnels to get to her.

Darkman shoots Cathy!

Vincent arrives just in time to watch Mitch shoot Cathy in the back because she chooses the wrong time to run away.

Cathy down for the count!

How would you feel if you just saw your former best friend shoot your girlfriend?

Why do I always have to be right?! AHHHH!

That's gotta hurt.

Urgent! Emergency!

Mitch sees Vincent and it scares him. Yeah, you done it now Mitch! They hit the road but you know Vincent is going to be on their butts like a bee to a flower. Vincent screams out his pain while holding an unconscious Catherine.

If you don't make it everyone's gonna DIE!!!

He lays her on the front steps of a hospital while begging her not to die.

You're still alive so he ain't here yet

Cathy goes into surgery while Vincent is on the war path running through the tunnels. Mitch is in a warehouse just waiting for Vincent.

Hey mister! Someone's behind you!

He knows Vincent will come for him. His goons are standing guard with guns. Vincent dispatches the first gunman.

Hey dude! What's your biggest nightmare?

Second gunman receives a roar in the face before killing which alerts Mitch.

Go down there and die for me!

Mitch sends the third and last gunman down some stairs to see what is going on.

Did I just run into a giant meat slicer?

All we hear are a bunch of roars and screams for a few seconds then Vincent sends the whimpering third gunman back up the stairs like he's sending a message to Mitch. You're next buddy!

Reach out and touch someone!

Mitch steps back in horror and Vincent grabs at him from the boarded up wall right beside of Mitch. There's no stopping this kitty!

Raging vendetta!

Mitch squats down crying and  pleading like a little baby.

I'm alive! Honey, stop killing people.

Vincent is just about to kill him when Catherine wakes up and calls his name.

You're not even worth it...now that she's gonna live

Vincent calms and looks down at his former friend and says, "There's nothing left of you. Nothing."

Please don't kill me! Wa wa nanny boo boo!

So his goons had to die but he lets Mitch go so he could return someday and cause trouble again Hmmm. Maybe Mitch changed his life for the better in prison
. Who knows?

What does my baby want to say?

Later Vincent is back in Catherine's hospital room. She's waking up again.

Dream a little dream of me.

Cathy talks about a dream she had of herself and Vincent in the daytime buying ice cream and no one cared to even look.

My baby is going to be okay. :)

That's sweet in more ways than one but all I CARE about is that I'm finally done with this review. I'm sorry if this is one of your favorite episodes but this is definitely not mine. THE END...of this episode. Thank goodness.

Here are some reasons why I don't like this episode. The story is boring in a lot of places. It has some gross factors even though they really don't show anything. Having a heavy metal box crush a man on a show like this doesn't bode well for the rest of the story. The man responsible for it will not get any sympathy from me even if he used to be Vincent's best friend. I don't know. I just couldn't feel for this story. The only thing it really has going for it is it's the closest to death Catherine has been to in the series so far. That's not really something to celebrate when looking at what road the program chose to drive down in the end but hey that's just my opinion so it you like it more power to ya.

I can't believe I finished the whole thing!!!
